The word Metaphysics is made of the combination of two  words "meta" which means beyond or greater and "physics" which is the science of the physical nature of things.  In most dictionaries the definition found for  Metaphysics is referred to as a branch of Philosophy that deals with the Nature of Existence by evaluating humanity's place in the Universe.

In today’s world, however, the word "Metaphysics" has become a description of many fields of interest that go beyond normal human thought and ability. Some examples of Metaphysical subjects include Religion, Parapsychology, Tarot, Divination, Yoga, Energy Therapies eg: Reiki, Intuition and Psychic Development, Dreamwork, Astrology, Meditation, Self-Help Studies, Positive Thinking, and Reincarnation, just to name a few. Professional Metaphysicians are therefore modern day Philosophers who employ methods that travel beyond the physical to help understand the human condition.

The Mission of the Australian  Metaphysical Association is to unite as a community, metaphysical teachers, practitioners, and students, by providing certification and recognition for those with natural ability.
People  are encouraged to share their experiences, services, and life stories with other members.
